Compiere to Present at Red Hat's Open Source Cloud Computing Forum

Redwood Shores, Calif. – July 15, 2009 – Compiere, Inc., the global leader in open source and Cloud-based enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions, today announced that executive vice president, Sunny Gosain, will deliver a presentation during this month's Red Hat Open Source Cloud Computing Forum. The day-long, global, virtual forum will take place from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm EDT on Wednesday, July 22. Gosain's 2:00 pm EDT presentation will address recent milestone developments in open source technology, considerations when evaluating open source ERP replacements, upgrade and deployment strategies, and benefits of enterprise applications on the Cloud.

The goal of the Open Source Cloud Computing Forum, which is designed to advance the development of open source Cloud computing, is to foster discussion across a broad range of technical topics related to Cloud computing, including virtualization, security, management, open standards, hybrid public-private clouds, and data formats.

"Red Hat's Forum comes at an opportune time, as more companies are considering the tremendous value of open source enterprise applications now available on the Cloud. We believe Cloud computing is a significant trend in the enterprise applications market because it provides the convenience of utility computing and reduces traditional IT overhead and complexities of on-premise applications at a fraction of the cost of traditional systems, " said Gosain.

This year, Compiere became the first open source provider to offer an enterprise-class ERP solution available on Amazon's Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), enabling organizations of all sizes to leverage the company's comprehensive ERP solution with the scalability, flexibility, and significant cost advantages of Cloud computing. Gosain will share his experience with how companies are able to deploy their own private instances of applications, on the Cloud and control their specific customizations and upgrades to new versions, eliminating the constraint of multi-tenant alternatives.

The Red Hat Open Source Cloud Computing Forum is free to members of the public and media. For more information, including registration information and an agenda, visit http://www.redhat.com/cloudcomputingforum/
